On August 19, Russia launched a missile attack on Chernihiv. The rocket, according to the previous version of the “Iskander” type, hit near the theater. Seven people died, including a 6-year-old girl. More than two hundred people were injured.
On that day, an exhibition of drones “Angry Birds” was planned in the premises of the drama theater – an event that united volunteers, developers, experts, businessmen, and the military. This drone display was used by Russia as a cover for a missile strike that killed civilians.
In their propaganda news, the Russians distanced themselves from the killing of peaceful Ukrainians and justified the missile strike as a “military target”. Not only that, Russian propaganda reported on “dozens of Ukrainian and foreign soldiers killed.”
