The beginning of autumn in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of the Zaporizhzhia region started with a new academic year in the “new” education system, about which Russian propaganda could not remain silent.

In this text, we reviewed samples of printed and digital propaganda that is being distributed in temporarily occupied cities and villages of the Zaporizhzhia region. In the focus of our attention are messages about events and “heroes” of materials about education, because it is with their help that propaganda spreads among Ukrainian children and teenagers on TOT.

It was found out that among the messages there was also information about innovations in schools. Therefore, for example, the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” stated that textbooks on world history and the history of Russia for 10–11 grades already contain sections on the so-called “special military operation”.

The pages also featured quotes from collaborating female teachers with false information, which were refuted.

The news about the opening of a cadet class in Melitopol seems especially alarming. A Russian military officer, an officer with the call sign “Soyuz” of the Russian Guard Department in the Zaporizhzhia region, also participated in the opening of the class.

An Orthodox gymnasium was opened in Berdiansk, which, however, is also a component of Russian propaganda. A local collaborator equated the activities of the clergyman associated with the opening of the school to the activities of people with automatic weapons.

The “Russia — My History” park, opened in Melitopol, additionally tries to legitimize the occupation of Ukrainian cities in the eyes of both children and adults.
