On the Day of the Ukrainian Armed Forces , demonstration performances of Lutsk taekwondo players took place at Lutsk Lyceum No. 15. The event took place on December 6 in the school’s gym.

There were also demonstration of fights and techniques for release from grips, as well as defense against attackers with knives and sticks.

Each student must adhere to the oath of Tae Kwon Do and the principles of this martial art. In particular: to be polite, honest, persistent, there must be self-control.

President of the Volyn Taekwondo Federation (black belt, IV Dan) Oleksandr Kinakh told the audience about the history of the ITF (International Taekwondo Federation) during the event and explained the techniques.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art. The founder of Tae Kwon Do is General Choi Hong Hee. Taekwon-do was founded on April 11, 1955 in South Korea.

Oleksandr Kinakh explained that the taekwondo oath is etiquette, discipline, and a sense of respect for the coach, parents, and elders.

“Taekwondo needs to be popularized because it is accessible to both men and women, adults and children. It is simultaneously a sport, a health system and an aesthetic pleasure, both for the demonstrator and for the viewer. I personally train in groups of school No. 7, school No. 15 and school No. 24. I also train individually. The participants are from the 1st grade to 60+ years old.”

Oleksandr Kinakh says that you can reach a black belt in an average of 5 years. It all depends on the ability to perceive information:

“The most difficult thing on the road to black belt is the ability to overcome yourself… The desire to improve your technique must outweigh the desire to stop (when nothing works) and it seems that you can do nothing.”

Oleg Hrebeniuk, director of the general secondary education institution “Lutsk Lyceum No. 15 of the Lutsk City Council”, said that taekwondo classes have been held at school No. 15 for more than 20 years.
