They are attacked with “Grads”, heavy artillery and hit by drones – since July 12 of last year, the life of the residents of Nikopol has turned into horror. Since then, Russian terrorists standing on the other side of the Kakhovka Reservoir in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region have been targeting people, smashing their houses and cars, destroying businesses, schools and hospitals. The occupiers are hurting the people of Nikopol.
In almost a year of shelling, they injured 134 local residents and killed 16. During this time, more than half of the population left Nikopol, but life in the city did not stop. People continue to work under shelling and rebuild their destroyed homes. Utility workers also work non-stop in the city. However, since June 6, another disaster has come for the people of Nikopol and all the residents of the Nikopol district – the lack of water supply after Russian terrorists blew up the Kakhovka HPP. The water level in the reservoir has already dropped from 17 to 10 meters and continues to fall.
Currently, almost the entire district, except for Nikopol and Pershotravnevska rural community, remains without water supply. Tankers with drinking and technical water are already arriving in the affected areas.
