A psychologist of the National Emergency Service from Zaporizhzhia talked about the peculiarities of her profession and why she chose it

Heroes without weapons. This is the name of the rescuers who, in the face of a full-scale Russian invasion, continue to protect the population and do extremely important and risky work – putting out fires after explosions, dismantling rubble, demining territories, providing psychological assistance to people affected by the war. It is the psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine who are among the first to arrive at the sites of missile strikes and communicate with the victims, if necessary, supporting and helping them.

Yuliia Sydorenko, a psychologist at the State Emergency Department of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, started her work in Enerhodar. The girl was there at the time of the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. She managed to leave the occupied city in May 2022, now the girl works in Zaporizhzhia. In the interview, she talked about her work at the sites of shelling in Zaporizhzhia, as well as why she decided to choose such a specialty.
